The Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) and Food Department, Gopalganj Sadar, jointly organised the programme with the theme 'Our actions are our future'.
In this connection, a colourful procession was arranged where about 100 farmers and district-level high officials took part.
A discussion meeting was also held at Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium.
Sadar upazila chairman Sheikh Luthfar Rahman Bacchu attended the discussion as the chief guest and Deputy Director (Agricul-ture), Gopalganj, Ramesh Chandra Brahma presided.
Meanwhile, our Magura correspondent adds: The World Food Day was observed in the district on Wednesday with the slogan 'Healthy diets for a zero hunger world'.
Right to Food Bangladesh, Magura district committee, arranged different programmes here marking the day.
It also arranged a discussion meeting where Rova Foundation Executive Director Kazi Kamruzza-man and Magura district NGO coordinator Abdul Halim took part.
Right to Food Bangladesh, Magura district committee, president Shafiqur Rahman presided over the meeting.
