World Tourism Day observed in Khulna

KHULNA, Sept 27 (BSS): The World Tourism Day 2014 was observed here today with the theme of "Tourism and Community Development".

To mark the day, Khulna District Administration organized a rally and a discussion meeting.

Additional Divisional Commissioner (Revenue) Ashok Kumar addressed the rally as chief guest held at officers club in the city with Khuna deputy commissioner Anis Mahmud in the chair.

Khulna Police Super Habibur Rahman, deputy director of Directorate of Agricultue Extention in Khulna Md. Anisuzzaman, President of Khulna Press Club Faruk Ahmed and executive director of Rupantor, an NGO, Swapon Guho, addressed as special guests.

The chief guest stressed the need for widespread publicity to flourish tourism sector. He also urged all concerned to ensure participation of local people in tourism activities for the sustainable development of the sector.
