Youth beaten to death by mob in Jhalakathi

JHALAKATHI, Nov 19 (BSS): A young man, suspected to be a thief, was killed in lynch-mob attack while fleeing with stolen goods from a house at Chhoto Koibarto Khali village under Rajapur upazila early this morning.

The deceased was identified Monir Hossain, 32, son of late Abdul Aziz of the same area.

Officer-in-charge of Rajapur thana AZM Masuduzzaman said Monir entered the house of one Fazlu Mullah in Chhoto Koibarto Khali village about 3 am for stealing.

Hearing screams of the inmates, the neighbours rushed into their house and caught Monir while fleeing with the booties. The mob gave Monir a severe beating, leaving him dead on the spot.
