Youth beaten to death in Bagerhat

BAGERHAT, Aug 4 (UNB): A young man was beaten to death by his rivals in Mongla upazila headquarters early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Hridoy Bhandary, 18, son of Faruqe Bhandary of Koborsthan Road in Mongla upazila headquarters.

Meanwhile, police arrested two people-Shahin, 21, son of Abdus Salam of upazila colony area, and Momrez Talukdar, 29, son of Yeakub Talukdar of Narikeltala village in the upazila.

Police said Shahin and Mobrez picked up Hridoy from near his house on Sunday midnight and took him to Abdul Hye road area.

They beat up Hridoy and later hit his head with brick, leaving him dead on the spot.
