Youth hurt in rival attack dies in Madaripur

A young man who was injured in an attack by his rivals at Korpi village in Madaripur Sadar upazila on Sunday afternoon died on way to Dhaka early Monday. The deceased was identified as Shakil Bepari, 17, son of Moksed Bepari, a resident of the village. Witnesses said Arif Bhuiyan, son of Khokon Bhuiyan of the village, swooped on Shakil and beat him with a cricket bat indiscriminately around 5:00pm following previous enmity while playing cricket in a field in the village, leaving him seriously injured. Shakil was rushed to Sadar Hospital and later doctors referred him to Dhaka as his condition deteriorated. He died on way to Dhaka at about 2:00 am on Monday. A case was filed, according to UNB.
