Youth killed by brother in Sherpur

SHERPUR, Jun 1 (UNB): A man was stabbed to death allegedly by his elder brother over a trifling matter at Dhanakusha village in Nakla upazila early Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Ripon Miah, 24, son of Mujibar Rahman of the village.

Quoting witnesses, police said Rubel Hossain had an altercation with his younger brother Ripon over stealing of a fan of his poultry farm on Saturday.

At one stage of altercation, Rubel stabbed Ripon indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured.

He was rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Sunday.

On information, police recovered the body. But Rubel went into hiding after the incident.
