BAGERHAT, July 15 (UNB): A young man was stabbed to death by unknown miscreants in C&B Bazar area on the Bagerhat-Khulna Highway in Sadar upazila on Monday night.
The deceased Bappi Shikder,23, son of Abdus Sattar, a resident of Brahmyakathi village in Morelganj upazila, was a motorcycle driver by profession.
Police said locals spotted the floating body of Bappi in a ditch in the area at about 8:30 am on Tuesday and informed police.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy. Victim's father Sattar said Bappi phoned him when he was coming to Morelganj with two passengers from Taleshwar Bazar area of Kachua upazila at about 11:00 pm.
Bappi's mobile phone was found switched off since 12:00am, he added.
