‘Mothers can play vital role in eradicating dropouts’

RANGPUR, Apr 19 (BSS): The mothers can play vital role in eradicating dropouts and ensuring cent percent enrolments and attendance of their children at schools for quality education in building an educated and knowledge based enlightened society.
Member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges Nazmul Hoque Prodhan said this at a mothers' rally at Magahi Panimachhpukuri High School under Sadar upazila in Panchagarh this afternoon as the chief guest.
With President of Teachers' Guardians' Association of the school Al Amin Jewell in the chair, Panchagarh District Education Officer Jeebdhan Barman, Sadar upazila chairman Anwar Sadat Samrat and Chairman of the school managing committee Rawshanara Begum addressed the rally as the special guests.
Headmaster of the school AKM Rokshanul Islam, Chairman of local Hafizabad union parishad Shahadat Hossain and President of Panchagarh Sadar Upazila Secondary Teachers' Association Ekramul Haque also addressed the rally.
Students Romana Akhter of class ten, Alamgir Hossain of class nine and Sadiya Afroz Rabi of class seven addressed the occasion on behalf of the students of the school.
On behalf of the guardians, mothers Romana Khanom, Zinnatun Akhter and Hosne Ara Begum narrated various problems prevailing in the school with suggestions for resolving those and the success achieved in academic and other sectors in the institutions.
Mote than 200 mothers in addition to the guardians, students, teachers, Upazila level government officials and political leaders, civil society members, professionals and local journalists were present.
The speakers called upon the mothers, teachers and guardians for their concerted efforts in building an educated Bangladesh through reducing school dropouts to the zero level and ensuring 100 percent enrollment in the secondary and primary level schools.
