A comedian par excellence

I am very sad to read about serious illness of veteran film and TV artist Teli Samad, who is famously known for his immense talent in comedy roles. He even acted as the main comedian when he was at his career's peak. 'Dildar Ali' was the name of the movie and it was hugely successful during this time.

Teli Samad was born as Abdus Samad and he took the screen name of Teli Samad when he entered the show business. He was born in 1948 in Bikrampur.  He was one of the most popular Bangladeshi actors even today and when I hear that he was acting in a TV drama, I tried to watch it. His comic timing is still unparalleled.

From the movie 'Noyon Moni' which was directed by Amjad Hossain, Teli Samad got his popularity.  Still today I watch his movie clips in youtube and enjoy it.

The Bangla movies used to draw its strength from the acting prowess of Teli Samad. His natural acting made him an inseparable part of our movie industry.

Now we don't see actors like him. That is why Bangla film industry is so lacklustre. I hope, he will be back again among us hale and hearty and bring smiles to thousands.
