Adapting to changing workforce

October 05, 2023 00:00:00

The workforce is changing rapidly, driven by technological advancements, globalisation and demographic shifts. According to a recent McKinsey study, up to 800 million jobs could be displaced by automation by 2030. Additionally, a World Economic Forum report found that a staggering 52 per cent of employees will need to be re-skilled or upskilled by 2025 in order to keep up with the changing workforce. Adapting to the changing workforce is now the key to getting employed. And for this, businesses need to invest in training and development programmes to help their workers learn new skills. And the workers should be open to learning new things and pursuing new career opportunities. Here are some specific ways that businesses and workers can do to get adapted to the changing workforce.

The businesses can invest to train their workers so that they can learn new skills, such as coding, data analysis and digital marketing. Creating inclusive workplaces that support all workers, regardless of their gender, race, ethnicity, or age is another measure. The business owners can also provide opportunities for the workers to develop their careers through mentorship programmes, tuition reimbursement and other initiatives. The workers should embrace these new things wholeheartedly and pursue new career opportunities. They can sharpen their skills by taking online courses, attending conferences and networking with other professionals in their field. By taking these steps, both the businesses and the workers can ensure that they are prepared for the future of work.
