Addressing construction workers' safety

November 25, 2022 00:00:00

On an average, 100 construction workers die every year from accidents that take place in the construction sites, according to a recent study. These deaths are preventable if the construction companies and building owners give just a little bit of attention to the workers' safety. Accidents often take place in multi-storey construction sites. But unfortunately, the building owners seem to be quite indifferent to the safety of workers. The situation must change and the authorities must bring them under a legal framework to ensure occupational safety of the workers and compensate them and their families for any injuries and their death.

A lack of safety equipment is quite common among workers. It seems they are not well-trained to abide by the rules and regulations. It is the duty of the respective construction company to make safety compulsory for its workers. They should make sure that every worker is aware of the hazards that come with working in a construction site. They must protect workers from such dangers. Ensuring a better and safer work environment will not only benefit works, but their wellbeing will encourage them to work more efficiently.
