Life has become very hectic in the 21st century. It's possibly the most tiring for residents of Dhaka. Most employers in Dhaka, Chattogram and others claim that they are following eight-hour workdays. In reality, most of their employees work between nine to 10 hours. Then there is traffic congestion. In Dhaka, most people spend around three to four hours of their daily life stuck in traffic.
After meals, household chores and family time, most professionals become very tired. But they do not get proper sleep, as the same monotonous cycle restarts the next day.
Lack of sleep at night makes most people lethargic and listless during the day.
Adequate sleep is very important for a person's physical wellbeing. Scientists and health experts say that an average adult requires seven hours of sleep. But most Bangladeshis are not getting this amount of sleep.
Proper sleep and rest are necessary so that people can function optimally. Sufficient sleep can also cure fatigue and minor health complications.
Health experts suggest that people should go to bed and wake up at the same time every day in order to fix a sleeping pattern for the body. In order to get a sound sleep, people should turn off their televisions and other gadgets. Reading a book can help.
Physical activities or exercise during the day can help anyone fall asleep easily at night. Everyone should have dinner at least two hours before bedtime. People should not have coffee, tea or other caffeinated beverages before going to bed.
Ensuring positive changes like adequate sleep, shunning smoking, alcoholism etc. will help most people stay fit and healthy.
