Alarming political stalemate

January 12, 2015 00:00:00

Political stalemate of the country has assumed alarming proportions. People are living in an atmosphere of uncertainty, fear and insecurity as the non-stop blockade of the opposition has put normal life in jeopardy. The ruling party says, the blockade has failed, but in reality it has isolated Dhaka from the rest of the country incurring heavy losses to the economy. Political stalemate cannot be resolved by use of force. If the ruling parties thinks so, they will commit a Himalayan blunder. It will only isolate them from the common people.

Every day we read and hear about people dying and property being damaged. When will it end? When will our leaders learn to do politics as per the norms of democracy? I sincerely hope that good sense will prevail on the ruling party and the opposition camp shall also follow the path of peace and reconciliation, because nobody is greater than the country.
