Many of us have a tendency to lose our head very soon and we often make excuse for our fast paced life. In fact, we should not blame others for our short temper but ourselves and if we can consciously try to be cool-headed we can do that. Sometimes we may lose our temper but if it happens more often, we must try to control our anger instead of being controlled by it.
Quite a few of my acquaintances have an anger problem and they admit it but they have no clue how to solve this problem. If one cannot control one's anger, one will surely face problem in social and professional life. Sudden bursts of anger can trigger imbalance in our sugar level. Unchecked anger can wreak havoc on our well-being as it can decrease bone density, suppress the body's immune response and make it susceptible to chronic inflammation. It also suppresses thyroid function, slowing down the body's metabolism; it can impair the brain's thinking ability and increase blood pressure. Anger also impedes blood circulation. Lack of oxygen can cause severe chest pains. Uncontrollable anger can trigger the bursting of a brain artery, resulting in a stroke.
So it is very important we control anger before it destroys our lives and health. We must remember that anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else but we are the ones who get burned.
