App for train tickets

The media report that advance train tickets for upcoming Eid may be sold at different points of Dhaka city in addition to Kamlapur Railway Station. Also railway apps will be launched this month through which people can purchase train tickets using their cell phones. Collecting ticket through apps will be more convenient as many people currently buy rail tickets online through the website of the Bangladesh Railway or using their phones (SMS ticketing).

We hope all these steps will be helpful to stop black-marketing of tickets.

Another good information is that there will be direct intercity train between Dhaka and Rajshahi with no stoppage in between. It will reduce the current travel time between the two cities. Train from Rajshahi will start at 7.00 am and will arrive at Dhaka at 11.40 am. Train from Dhaka will start at 1.15 pm and will reach Rajshahi at 6.00 pm.

This direct train service between Dhaka and Rajshahi will start on April 14, on the first day of Bangla new year.
