Army kills two in N Yemen protest

SANAA, Mar 4: Witnesses say Yemeni soldiers opened fire at anti-government protesters in the country's north, killing two people and wounding seven. They say the shooting occurred as the soldiers tried to disperse thousands who took to the main street in Amran city for a collective Friday prayer. Protesters threw rocks at the troops and called for President Ali Abdullah Saleh to step down, shouting: "Leave! Leave!" The witnesses spoke on condition of anonymity fearing government reprisals. - AP Nine dead in Pak mosque blast NOWSHERA, Pakistan, Mar 4;: A bomb attack on a mosque in militant-infested northwest Pakistan killed at least nine people and wounded around 30 more as it ripped through Friday prayers, police and medics said. Hundreds of people were coming out of the mosque when the blast occurred, police said, adding that the bomb had been planted inside the building near the town of Nowshera. - AFP
