Attendance in colleges

October 12, 2014 00:00:00

The government has been beating drums about the growing rate of literacy and increase in the percentage of successful candidates in the public examinations.

Statistically, the government may be right but where lies the quality of education? Is the government aware that attendance in colleges both at higher secondary level and above has drastically fallen? The students do not attend classes regularly but they are shown present in the attendance register by the college authority simply because continuity of the registration of the college as well as MPO of the teachers will be questioned, and in all probabilities, will be suspended.

If the government addresses this area, we believe quality of education will automatically go up.
