March 21, 2015 00:00:00

'Made in Bangladesh' is a great branding activity to promote the Bangladeshi brand in international arena. Bangladesh has significantly improved in ICT (Information and Communication Technology) sector. It is indeed heartening to know as a citizen of Bangladesh when Bangladeshi students have qualified to join world famous organizations like, Google, Facebook, yahoo, etc especially in Silicon Valley.

ICT secretary narrates that about 15,000 (fifteen thousand) youngsters have been trained up in 2012 at district levels who earned 20.0 million USD which increased to 50.0 million in 2013.  And this is a continuous process he added.

According to the BCS (Bangladesh Computer Society) Bangladesh is looking to expand its ICT export area and IT hardware exports will increase by 1 billion USD in 2017.  Bangladesh will be able to earn 5 billion USD by exporting only software in 2018, explain ICT experts. Moreover, ICT will contribute to our GDP (Gross Domestic Products) by 2.0 per cent.

The growth rate of ICT is about 40 per cent and if it could be stabilised for a long time, Bangladesh would come up as a strong platform of ICT sector like India, Taiwan, South Korea, etc.
