Awareness about Covid-19 surge

The Covid-19 situation has taken an alarming turn in Bangladesh. The country is witnessing record-breaking daily Covid-19 fatalities and cases of infection. However, what is even more disheartening is the people's lack of awareness about the deaths and cases.

When the first coronavirus patient was identified in the country last year, people seemed to have been quite cautious. But as days passed, people started behaving as if they were immune to the virus. Health guidelines, which were once so apparent among people, seem to have lost their relevance.

However, the danger is real and patients are dying due reportrdly to lack of hospital seats, ICU beds, ventilators and proper treatment. Hospitals are teeming with Covid-19 patients. Still, we are quite reluctant to follow the health protocols. In this context, we need to work together to raise public awareness to combat this deadly virus.
