Bangladeshi Kebab in Poland

A young Bangladeshi entrepreneur has built a chain food shop called 'Zahir Kebab' in Poland. It has been so popular that in just seven years, 'Zahir Kebab'has opened 46 outlets all over the East European country, according to a report by a lifestyle magazine. The food chain has employed more than 500 Bangladeshis living there. The report said Zahir Ahmed studied in Lodz University and worked as a chef at a restaurant simultaneously. He went to Poland in 2006 and finished his study in 2009. But while working as a part-timer, he experimented with cooking. Thus, he dreamt of opening a food chain of his own. He took loans and invested personal savings as well in his venture. The journey officially started in 2013 with the first store in a small city in Poland. Zahir Kebab started selling Bangladeshi naan ruti and grilled meat with special sauces as its main offerings. I share this story with readers to draw attention to potential of Bangladeshi foods in cities around the world where there are many Bangladeshis and also where there are hardly any Bangladeshi. The youth of Bangladesh are proving that they can emerge as successful entrepreneurs.
