PESHAWAR, Dec 13 (AFP): A blast near a school bus in Pakistan's northwestern capital Peshawar Monday killed a driver and wounded at least two children, police said.
"The driver died in the blast. We have taken the two injured schoolchildren to the hospital," senior police official Mohammad Ijaz Khan told Pakistan's private Geo television.
The explosion took place in the congested Bhana Marri area on the outskirts of Peshawar, a city that runs into Pakistan's lawless tribal belt that Washington brands the most dangerous region on earth and an Al-Qaeda hub.
Meanwhile: Gunmen shot dead two Pakistani police brothers Monday, the second double shooting of officers in two days, police said.
Taseer Khan, 30, and Derwaish Khan, 43, were ambushed as they were driving to work on a motorcycle in the Charsadda district of northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, police said.
