BRTC buses ahead of Eid
July 17, 2014 00:00:00
It is heartening to learn that the state-run BRTC would launch a special service with its 900 buses across the country ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. Announcing this, Communica-tions Minister Obaidul Quader informed that advance tickets for the special service would be available from July 20. The BRTC efforts will surely relieve home goers of their miseries. The government deserve special appreciation for this initiative.
However, we urge the authority to remain strictly vigilant so that tickets go to the right passengers at fair prices and without any hassle. Otherwise, the earnest effort of the government will go in vain. I am scared, there might be chances that the tickets would go to the black-marketers. The genuine passengers will have to return from the bus counters empty handed and later procure the same from the black-marketers with a high price.
