Brutal murder of yet another blogger

Gruesome murder of writer and blogger Niloy is indeed a tragic incident and goes to prove that our society is becoming increasingly intolerant towards different opinions. Niloy is another name added to the list of bloggers murdered over the last few years. What we have seen in recent past is that a couple of arrests are made and cases are initiated against them. But sadly, we have seen very few of the criminals being punished.

The death of Niloy is another wake-up call for the nation to establish rule of law in the country. The murderers are getting away with their crimes triggering a sharp rise of crimes in the country. The Home Ministry must wake up and bring the perpetrators to book and set an example so that we can see peace and security prevail in our society. Such incidents only portray a grim picture of our country to the outside world. We should condemn all kinds of extra-judicial killings no matter who the criminals are.

Niloy was killed in his own apartment and his murder speaks a lot about deteriorating law and order situation.  Without establishing law and order we cannot expect our country to move forward.  The victim had sought police protection before as he felt insecure after receiving death threats from some fundamentalists. But sadly the police did not take any action and we had to witness another murder.

It is imperative for the government to take on the criminals with a firm hand and make the country liveable for people of all religious beliefs. Law and order must be restored at any cost.
