BTV's broadcasting in India

It is heartening to note that Bangladesh Television (BTV) programmes are being broadcasted in India on its state-controlled Doordarshan's DTH platform-DD Free Dish since September 02, 2019. Media reports say people from different parts of India can now watch the BTV 24 hours a day. We in Bangladesh have been watching many Indian TV channels for quite a long time. But the people of India were being deprived of watching any Bangladeshi TV channel.

We hope telecasting of BTV in India would contribute to better bonding between the two next-door neighbours. The peoples of Bangladesh and India are close to each other culturally, and they would now be able to feel more connected to each other. Let there be more exchange of cultural programmes and sports activities between Bangladesh and India. Such steps, we are confident, would build higher level of confidence on the political front for the benefits of the peoples of the two countries.
