Chunarughat health complex needs treatment

The Upazilla Health Complex at Chunarughat in Habiganj district itself needs treatment. The hospital suffers from acute shortage of physicians, lack of x-ray machine, and bad condition of the hospital building. The surgical department is not well-equipped and there is shortage of surgeons. The X-ray machine has been lying out of order since 2000. No surgical operation is conducted here. Many patients do not get medicines and food according to their requirements. The hospital also lacks ambulance service. There are only seven doctors at present against the requirement of 33 at the complex. Emergency doctor is not available on duty at times of need.  The health complex fails to provide healthcare services to the six hundred thousand people of the upazilla. The authorities concerned have not yet taken any measure to mitigate the sufferings of the people.

The people of Chunarughat upazilla urge the authority to take appropriate measures so that the hospital can provide proper medical services.
