We hardly pass a day peacefully in new Eskaton area without power cut or disruption. It may occur during day time or at the middle of the night for a few minutes or more than an hour - sometimes stretching to several hours. Enough electricity is generated and purchased from India, but we fail to understand why we can not supply adequate power to households. There is no harm if experts from India are hired to ensure proper generation of the electricity imported, when thousands of Indian experts are working in our garments sector.
New Eskaton Road is now Rashed Khan Menon Sarak and it was expected that roads and areas adjacent to Rashed Khan Menon Sarak would be in an ideal condition. Unfortunately it is not so. The condition of the roads is pitiable and one will find waist-deep holes at many places on footpaths as there are no slabs or concrete covers to cover the holes.
