Sakib has topped the list of test all-rounder players. The news will surely boost the morale of the banned ace-cricketer of Bangladesh and create sympathy for him among the cricket lovers of our country. Hopefully, it will increase his chances to see a reduction in his six-month ban. The Tigers are touring West Indies, and Sakib is surely missing the competitive event.
The Bangladesh Cricket Control Board needs to keep in mind that a long break from competitive cricket is not good for any professional cricketers. I hope it will reconsider the ban on Sakib and lift it. I am sure Sakib has learned his lesson that no one is above discipline. We all have to follow the rules imposed by our respective higher authorities no matter in which profession we are in.
Undoubtedly, Sakib is the unofficial brand ambassador of our country's cricket and many people of the world have come to know about Bangladesh through Sakib Al Hasan. In 2006, Sakib got his break in international cricket. Since then he has not looked back. He is the most admired sportsman of the country now, and has a good fan following abroad.
I congratulate Sakib for becoming the top test all-rounder and hope soon he will be back in cricket.
