The prestigious Oslo Business for Peace Award 2014 has been awarded to the founder-president of the Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BWCCI) Selima Ahmed. Her winning of this award will encourage Bangladeshi women to work hard to create their niche in the global stage.
Selima Ahmed, also vice-chairperson of the Nitol-Niloy Group, is the second Bangladeshi to win the coveted prize. We all are very happy and proud. It testifies that the Bangladeshi women are gradually making their contribution to our society. I hope this award will encourage Selima Ahmed to work towards the downtrodden section of our women.
The Oslo Business for Peace Award is a recognition given to individual business leaders for nurturing peace and stability through business in the society. I heartily congratulate Selima Ahmed and hope this recognition will inspire her as well as the young women of our country to make more strides.
