A Bangladeshi teenage boy has recently won the first place in the 38th edition of Iran International Quran Competition. The 13-year-old Saleh Ahmad Takrim reportedly left behind a total of 190 contestants with his beautiful voice, and walked away with the prestigious first prize. Having topped several national competitions in Bangladesh, Takrim justified his tag as this year's favourite in the category of Memorisation of Entire Quran. Not just he, many other Quran elocutionists from Bangladesh had won top prizes from a number of international contests in the past. But sadly, our media does not seem to give much attention to promote their achievements.
We would like to congratulate Takrim. And we are extremely proud of his accomplishments. We also would like to encourage him to continue with his Quran studies. As Bangladeshis, we hope following Takrim many others will come forward and bring more glories home.
