Continuous rain and sufferings of city dwellers

Rains are welcome on hot summer days, because it brings relief to us. I generally love rains, particularly so if it rains on holidays. On a rainy holiday, I enjoy staying at home reading books, listening to music movies and watching movies. But as rains gives us comfort on hot summer days, continuous rain for days together is equally disgusting and nobody likes it. Rains on weekdays make our life miserable. Roads are muddy, public transports are few and far between. Continuous rains during the last few days have become a cause of untold sufferings for the city dwellers, especially for the poor people. Broken and dilapidated roads have multiplied the sufferings of the commuters. Getting out has become a risky affair as big holes on the main roads often make the journey risky and troublesome.  Due to water logging, people are discouraged to go out and the poor people like small traders, rickshaw pullers and hawkers suffer as they cannot not earn as much as they do on normal days. Rain causes heavy terrific jams and multiplies the sufferings of the commuters. Prices of essentials have gone up and especially vegetables have become dearer. The authorities concerned should make sure that the broken roads are repaired urgently to provide relief for the commuters and public transports are available in adequate numbers.
