Coping with stress in student life

August 03, 2022 00:00:00

In today's competitive world, stress has become a part of the student's academic life, due to expectations and the fear of failure. Excessive academic stress can lead to depression, anxiety, nervousness, low self-esteem and other complexities. People in Bangladesh do not take mental health seriously and there is no psychological counselling and guidance in any educational institutions. Many students commit suicide when they do not get the result as per the expectations of their parents.

A lot has to be done to cope with this serious issue. Educational institutions should have counselling facilities. And the counsellors should provide guidance on how to manage stress, and deal with anxiety and panic attacks. Students while studying should take small breaks in between to deal with their stress. Most importantly students must be made to believe in themselves through family and friends' support. Parents should help them by not putting unnecessary pressure on them.
