Countdown to WC Cricket

December 10, 2014 00:00:00

The World Cup Cricket tournament is only two months away and the sports-loving people of our country are eagerly waiting along with the rest of the world for this mega event to commence. The tournament will start from 14th February 2015 and the final match will be played on 29th March 2015. This sports extravaganza is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world where cricket is played and adored.

This time the WC will be jointly hosted by New Zealand and Australia. Fourteen teams will compete in this mega event and four hundred players and officials will take part in it. India is the defending champion but they are likely to face stiff opposition from  teams like Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Pakistan won the trophy when the WC was last held in Australia and New Zealand in 1992. Great all rounder Imran Khan was the captain of the team and the architect of the fairytale victory.  The Tigers are buoyed by the success of recent Zimbabwe series and hope they will put up their best show and make this WC a memorable tournament for Bangladeshi cricket fans.
