CSR for businesses
March 17, 2022 00:00:00
The government alone cannot resolve all issues. Under the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR), it becomes the duty of businesses to stand by the people. So far it has been encouraging to see big companies and banks contributing to CSR funds for the purpose. However, they can give it more generously to the society's development. And what is more worrying is that a number of them do not even bother about such responsibilities. The authorities concerned can formulate a mechanism through which CSR funding will be made mandatory for every business entity. And there should also be a common platform for collecting CSR funds from both private and public organisations, and spend them for the society's welfare.
In this case, the highest emphasis should be given to the education sector. Women's empowerment should also be given special attention. The environment is becoming increasingly important worldwide; hence, it requires special attention.
