Currency smuggling by a Biman pilot had received a good coverage by the media. He carried an unauthorised amount of Kuwaiti currency in an outbound flight from Dhaka. The pilot, by his vile deed, has shattered the image of the airlines. He is suspected to be a part of the currency smuggling gang in Dhaka. Possibly, as he was in the cockpit that night, he did not land on the spot and another pilot for emergency would have caused the delay.
He was allowed to fly after the foreign currency was confiscated and giving a written undertaken. What an embarrassment for Bangladesh Biman! We wonder if he was psychologically fit to be in the cockpit.
He should be sacked by Biman authority immediately without any notice and without allowing him any benefits, like gratuity, outstanding earned leave etc. as punishment. He will have to face the legal punishment for his misdeed.
