Danger of electrocution during rains

June 22, 2022 00:00:00

A number of peopledie from electrocution every yearduring the monsoon. With strong winds accompanying the rains, there is every possibility of snapping of live wires from the electricity poles along the roads. It is a known fact that water is a good conductor of electricity. If these snapped live-wires land in stagnant rainwater, anyone can be electrocuted. This could have been fatal for anyone.

It would be advisable for the public not to touch any snapped electrical wire and to inform the local office of the electricity department so that the power is shut down immediately. And an awareness programme should also be launched so that people remain aware of such electrocution during the rains.
