Dangers of gastric pill overuse
June 09, 2022 00:00:00
The highest selling medicine in the country is gastric pills. This kind of medicine is being sold and used indiscriminately by a large number of people without proper prescription. According to a group of physicians of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, even in case of treating gastric problems, intake of medicines for over eight weeks is excessive. The habit of taking a gastric pill every night may reportedly cause malnutrition, dementia, cancer and many other health complications.
Purchasing medicines over-the-country is a widespread practice in Bangladesh. However, it should come to an end. And we all should realise that taking a gastric pill every day can cause other complications. If we can maintain dietary discipline, we will not suffer from acidity and there will be no need of medicine.
