DCC elections

Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) elections are overdue for more than half a decade. The city was bifurcated into two with a view to providing  better governance and services.   It appears from media reports that area demarcation of wards is yet to be finalised.

One must not forget that how Cyril Radcliffe made the demarcation during the partition of India in 1947 under the name of two Pakistan and one India. He never visited India when he was entrusted with the job of dividing India. One may question his ability, justification and so on and so forth, but it worked till date with the exception of some enclave problem which is also going to be solved soon.

I would request the authorities concerned to complete the task of ward area demarcation immediately so that the citizens of Dhaka can have people's representatives who would understand their problems better.
