Death of scientists in road crash: an irrecoverable loss

Every death is a tragedy to family members, friends and colleagues. But the untimely death of three scientists of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) and the engineer is not just a loss for the families, but an irrecoverable loss for Bangladesh, too. It is not easy for a country to make a scientist. And there remains no replacement for them. We express our sorrow for the people killed in the Savar road accident recently.

However, the Savar incident can never be a mere road accident. This is an accident caused by negligence of the authorities concerned since the responsible bus had no fitness or route permit.
