When the country is recovering from the shocking deadly road accident at Natore, we now hear about another sad news of a road mishap in Saudi Arabia where five Bangladeshis expatriates were reportedly killed. All the victims are from the Coxes Bazar district. The young victims went to Saudi Arabia to change their luck but death has shattered their dreams.
Saudi Arabia is a popular destination for Bangladeshi youths. Thousands of people are working there day and night and sending their hard-earned money to our country. But in return, they don't get any reward.
I hope, the government will bring back the bodies of the victims and adequately compensate their families so that they do not feel the financial crunch.
Most of the Bangladeshi workers go abroad paying a hefty sum of money and it takes at least two years to recover their initial investment.
All Bangladeshi workers must get themselves insured with insurance company so that in case of death, at least their families do not become pauper.
