Depriving 3.7m learners

November 15, 2019 00:00:00

The government is organising 'Victory flower making contest' and 'Victory festival' for school students. These programmes have been popular but this year their timing has not been in favour of around 3.7 million students. They are the ones who are sitting for Junior School Certificate (JSC) examinations of class VIII and test examinations held prior to Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations. The contest schedule collides with those of the students' examinations, reports a Bangla daily.

Better coordination between government agencies is important for ensuring participation of maximum number of students in such an interesting contest. Participation in extra-curricular activities surely enhances students' skills, and they can get better-prepared for their professional life by gaining confidence.
