Desperation despite death!
August 23, 2020 00:00:00
As if the more people are getting infected with coronavirus or facing death, the less they are becoming concerned about the deadly disease. This is more relevant in Bangladesh as, we see, in public places more people are moving without masks or maintaining social distancing. This is happening at a time when there are higher possibilities of infections and many countries are experiencing the second wave of the virus outbreak.
Of course, a good number of people are complying with health rules but non-compliance shown by more others is making everyone vulnerable. Unfortunately, the Bangladesh people, after their much sacrifice during the first few months of the pandemic, are facing fresh risks due largely to wholesale social negligence.
Since authorities concerned have resumed economic and office activities, it was the responsibility of all especially regulators and people concerned to ensure and maintain safety. Somehow they are in general ignoring how devastating the consequences could be. It is high time we took maximum cautionary measures to prevent and remain safe from the deadly disease.
