Dhaka living

I have been living in the New Eskaton Road area in the capital for more than three decades. I am sorry to say the drainage and sewerage system in the area is at its worst now; in other words it has collapsed. Dirty liquids are gushing out from almost all the manholes. Surface drains are choked or closed as all these drains are full of water whether it rains or not. The surroundings of a children's school are too bad to be described. The condition of the New Eskaton Road is too bad. New Eskaton happened to be a good residential area in the past and there was a considerable number of Christian population in this area. Several churches still exist today. Footpaths are occupied by food shops and peddlers of all types. At places garbage is waist deep high. Slabs on footpaths are missing at many places. Should the authorities do something for the improvement of health and sanitation of the tax payers living there?
