'Digital' is not merely a term; it has a greater internal meaning. It denotes using digits in technology. The expression which captivates me is 'Digital Bangladesh', that implies extensive use of modern computers and technology.
The goal of the declaration 'Digital Bangladesh' include eradicating poverty and making Bangladesh a middle-income country. The main sectors chosen for implementing the notion are education, health, job placement and poverty cut. At the time of the declaration of Digital Bangladesh programme, most of the people were ignorant about its long-term impact. But the people, mostly the educated youths, eventually discovered the potential of the digital technology. They are now busy operating the various forms of e-service, and have recently adopted the other updated and state-of-the-art digital devices.
But it saddens and surprises us that Dhaka University (DU) publishes its semester exam results through analog system. Sometimes, the students are not able to see their results due to this. At times, the students are asked to see their results in the mark-sheets instead of the notice boards. The students have no role here. If the digital system is installed in publishing the exam results of the university, many unwarranted delays could be removed.
We would like to request the Dhaka University authorities to look into the matter and cancel the analog system. They should put in place the digital system in publishing their semester exam results.
