Dilip Kumar the legend

Dilip Kumar, the legendary actor of Indian cinema, recently celebrated his 92nd birthday on December 11, 2014. He is known as the tragedy king of Indian screen, who is revered across the cine world. His illustrated career spanning over six decades has become an object of love and reverence of the cine lovers.

I still watch Dilip Kumar's movies on Youtube and admire the charisma he has spread. None can match his magical performance even today in Indian cinema. Dilip Kumar's real name is Yousuf Khan and adopted the name of Dilip Kumar for films.  

The story of Dilip Kumar's rise is remarkable and it is amazing how a fruit merchant became the heartthrob for movie lovers. His first movie was 'Jwar Bhata' which was released in 1944. But it was his film 'Jugnu' which was released in 1947 that gave him box- office recognition and turned him into a star. He starred in a variety of movies like Aan, Azaad, Ganga Jamuna and Mughal-e-Azam. He won the highest number of Filmfare awards and the Indian government honoured him with the Padma Bhusan Award which is the third highest civilian award.

I hope, Dilip Kumar will live a hundred years and wish him a very happy birthday!
