Disbursing required fund for teachers\\\' retirement money
March 26, 2015 00:00:00
The government has been giving hundreds of millions of Taka to private school teachers to help them get salaries regularly. It is helping a lot to raise the standard of education in private schools. At present, majority of students study in private schools. When we look at public examination results, we find that students of private schools are doing better than the government schools. A few decades back when government did not provide any financial support to private school teachers, the status was reverse.
Recently print media reported that government is allocating inadequate and irregular fund to pay for retirement benefits of retiring teachers. As a result, retiring teachers are going home empty handed and move from one table to another to get the due money for years together. After dedicating full working life to educate students, the retiring teachers are not getting retirement money in quick time which can not be acceptable. The government has been spending huge money to help the financially weak population. Why honorable teachers should be deprived of the opportunity to get their due money on time?
I would like to draw the attention of concerned authorities in the education department and request them to allocate adequate money to pay the retirement benefits of retiring private school teachers in shortest possible time.
