Donating blood

June 19, 2015 00:00:00

Every healthy adult human being can donate blood voluntarily after every four months and it can be a matter of life saving for another human being. We need to come forward and encourage our family and friends to donate blood and help the humanity in distress. Around 30.0 per cent of blood come from professional donors who are not healthy and often found being drug addicts. Many organizations like Sandhani, Red Crescent and Badhan are doing a commendable job in creating awareness about blood donation. There are many other blood donation clubs who are playing an important role in collecting blood and raising awareness about blood donation.

Donating blood is absolutely safe and the donors should not have any worries in their minds about it. Many people donate blood only when their near and dear ones are in need. Such donors constitute nearly 50.0 per cent of total blood donors. If this segment of donor becomes regular then much of our blood requirement can be easily fulfilled. We should have a chapter on blood donation in school text books so that students can learn about the importance of donating blood and be encouraged to do so once they become adults. Sympathy and fellow feeling make us good human beings and bind us together.
