DU Alumni Association for its alma mater

August 05, 2023 00:00:00

Dhaka University Alumni Association (DUAA) presented two buses for the current students of the university. Contribution to the transport arrangement for the thousands of students is surely a laudable step by the former students. The association also arranges scholarship for some 1,100 students. It gives Tk 2,500 each to them every month. This is also a big help for needy students. With the motto "Dhaka University is my pride; it is time now to repay our debts", members of the association have been serving their next generation.

In fact, alumni association of any educational institutions can play a big role for the alma matar. It is the unity of the former students that can play a pivotal role in working for the current students. Like DUAA, the members of the association can develop fund from their own money, and also can collect from other philanthropic individuals and organisations. If the associations are given some venues to sit in the institute premises, as DUAA has, that helps much. With an in-person get-together, the associations get stronger and can also appoint some staff to run its activities. If every institute, in its website provides the links of the alumni associations, former students can be more engaged and work better for their alma mater.
