Economy and political turmoil

January 29, 2015 00:00:00

The common people are passing their days in great anxiety, fear and uncertainty. Some entrepreneurs have already started thinking about shifting their business outside the country. If the ongoing political unrest continues, each and every one of us will be affected. Prices of essentials have already taken an upward turn and are likely to go higher up since transportation cost is also increasing. Now the million dollar question: How long can the economy withstand such chaotic situation and move against the rolling uncertainty? The common people are totally frustrated with the leaders who are at the helm of affairs. They sincerely expect that all parties will waste no time and make a concerted effort for dialogue, which according to media and leading professionals, is the only logical choice left.  Many export orders of readymade garments have been diverted to other countries and our competitors are very happy to have received those orders. Some industries are thinking about downsizing their manpower which will leave a large number of people jobless. The investors cannot be blamed for such drastic actions as they have no other choice but to do so. The scenario looks like a long tunnel with no trace of light at the end of it.
