As we look at a new year stepping in, we are also worried by looming political uncertainty. As the anniversary of the last general elections is round the corner, tension in the mind of the common people is mounting. The economy is yet to fully recover the economic loss of the days preceding the last general elections. The business community of the country has already urged the ruling party to talk to the opposition and end the stalemate. The common people of the country are already despaired with the prevailing uncertainty in the political arena and hope that it will disappear very soon. I think our development partners will put pressure on the leaders so that they are compelled to sit across the table and sort out all their differences.
With political uncertainly prevailing for an indefinite period of time, we cannot expect the country to go forward and achieve its desired goal. It is high time that our leaders shunned the path of violence and brought back peace and stability in the society. We should recall a famous saying of Albert Einstein that peace cannot be kept by force, it can be achieved by understanding.
