Encouraging farmers to use biofertilisers

June 10, 2022 00:00:00

Most of the farmers in our country are not educated. They find the use of chemical fertilisers the only means of increasing plant productivity. However, many of them do not yet know the adverse effects of synthetic chemical fertilisers on the ecosystem. Moreover, the use of such fertilisers costs a lot.

When biological agents are used to increase soil quality to supplement plant productivity, they are called biofertiliser. Various types of biofertilisers are now used universally in place of chemical fertilisers without harming the natural ecological balance. It costs less compared to chemical fertilisers. But, in Bangladesh, farmers have little knowledge about biofertilisers. So, we urge the authorities concerned to invest more in biofertiliser production by setting up this fertiliser's plants across the country. Not only this, our farmers should also have to be encouraged to use these fertilisers.
